A couple of weeks ago for Swiss Day, we launched Le Pink Bouquetin — a joyfully pink pop‑up bar created because we saw a clear gap in the market here in our alpine village. Younger guests are drinking less alcohol, and the traditional wine world — with its language of sophistication, elegance and heritage — often feels distant or overly formal. They’re looking for something lighter, easier, more playful. A vibe, a moment, a feeling. And the spritz market is one of the few that truly speaks to them: colourful, sparkling, unpretentious and fun.
But it’s not just the young. The older generation also prefers a gentle drink during apéro hours — that distinctly Valaisan window between 16:00 and 20:30 when you enjoy something light, share a moment, then head out for dinner and more, or even home for a relaxing evening and a good night’s sleep. So we created a bar that celebrates this shift while staying rooted in the land around us. Wine is part of Valaisan identity, and we wanted to honour it, not move away from it. Rosé and pét‑nat poured chilled and sparkling, local wines enjoyed on their own or in spritzes, Opaline organic ginger lemonade, and our own house‑made mocktail — all proudly Valaisan, all joyfully pink.
Although the Kermesse launch focused purely on drinks, the apéro food element is already becoming an important part of the concept. We’re building it around the same spirit of fun: colourful boards of local meats and cheeses, fresh fruits, little bites, canapés and sharing plates that feel lively and easy. This weekend, for example, we prepared generous, joy‑filled platters of Valaisan produce for an apéro for seventy people, and this side of Le Pink Bouquetin will continue to grow throughout the seasons.
Verbier was in full celebration mode on 31 July and 1 August for this year’s Swiss Day Kermesse, and our alpine village was the perfect setting to introduce something colourful, fresh and full of personality. Across both days, the atmosphere was lively — music, games, local stands, families everywhere and that unmistakable Verbier buzz that turns the village into one big fête.
Le Pink Bouquetin immediately stood out. The playful alpine details, the vine leaves draped across the bar, the inviting sheepskin seating and the distinctly Valaisan touches created a bright, welcoming corner that people naturally gravitated towards. Children ran past with face paint, families paused to chat, and groups of friends gathered around the bar, turning it into a cheerful meeting point throughout the celebrations.
All our drinks were joyfully pink and proudly local. The rosé pét‑nat was poured chilled and sparkling, the rosé wine flowed steadily, and our spritzes and mocktails — pre‑mixed for ease and speed — were light, organic, refreshing and perfect for a warm afternoon. Younger guests enjoyed something sparkling and playful, older guests appreciated a drink suited to an afternoon outdoors, and everyone loved the shared sense of pink‑tinted festivity.
The spirit of the apéro is distinctly Valaisan, and Le Pink Bouquetin embraced it fully. There was a sense of gathering, chatting, pausing and enjoying the moment — bubbles rising around the bouquetin like a playful wink, a little alpine version of wings for the afternoon.
The best part was the constant interaction. Locals stopped by to say hello, visitors discovering Verbier for the first time joined in, and familiar faces returned again and again, bringing new friends along. Le Pink Bouquetin became a lively social hub, adding colour, fun and a sense of togetherness to the Kermesse.
And this is only the beginning. As a pop‑up bar, Le Pink Bouquetin will continue to appear throughout the summer and winter seasons — in chalets, on terraces, in forest clearings, at panoramic viewpoints and even directly on the snow. It is designed for gatherings, celebrations and moments that deserve a splash of pink and a drink that makes people smile.
Launching it during the Swiss Day Kermesse reminded us why Verbier is so special. Our alpine village celebrates with heart, humour and joy, and we are delighted that Le Pink Bouquetin is now part of that spirit. Here’s to many more fun, festive, pink‑tinted moments ahead.
